“Art has the role in education of helping children become like themselves instead of more like everyone else”
Sydney Gurewitz Clemens

Cultivating Creative Confidence.
Children learn not only by example but through doing. By working with their hands, they learn kinesthetically. This stimulates them to think differently and to manipulate their physical and imagined worlds in new and exciting ways. Their creativity and imagination shines.

Art is known to build children’s self-confidence, self-motivation and self-esteem. These are all key life skills. By being able to create something of their own and in a fun and supportive environment, they develop their sense of self, building their confidence and a positive life view. Art provides children with the tools they need to develop creative problem-solving skills, to communicate their opinions in a variety of ways, and to respect other’s points of view. As children discover their artistic talents within, their mindset is broadened by conceptual thinking, and they will apply this creative excellence to their life.

Squiggle Studio runs a fun-filled class that nurtures drawing, art, crafts and graphic design in young children.

Squiggle Studio is owned and operated by Phyllis – a seasoned graphic designer and art teacher. Our lessons capture and develop creative ideas that are age appropriate. We focus on teaching children fundamental of art, drawing and design techniques. These include picture composition, still life, graphic design, collages, crafts, abstract art and experimenting with a variety of materials. Children take home their artwork at the conclusion of each lesson. Each lesson is designed around ‘THE BIG PICTURE’ – the overall theme of that particular lesson.

At Squiggle Studio, we nurture creative challenges with encouragement!
We care and respect one another’s artwork. Every idea is a great idea. And each child is unique in his/her own way. We encourage children to think beyond the square.
